Since 1991. Springing the Blues is a free, outdoor blues music festival that celebrates America’s indigenous musical form. The three-day oceanfront event features national, regional and local blues artists on two stages. Featuring 22 artists on two stages, including Grammy Award winner Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band, four-time 2017 Blues Music Award nominee Toronzo Cannon, The Eric Gales Band, James Armstrong, Brandon Santini, British Blues Awards Hall of Famer Matt Schofield, Albert Cummings, and Coco Montoya. We love to bring the hottest rising artists and we’ve got the mother lode this year: 2017 International Blues Challenge Band of the Year Dawn Tyler Watson with the Ben Racine Band and teen phenom Christone “Kingfish” Ingram. We’re proud to have a treasure of regional and local talent on hand with The Corbitt Brothers, Betty Fox Band, Mama Blue, Cat McWilliams Band, Jennifer B and the Groove, Bryce Alastair, Woody and the Peckers, Spice and the Po Boys, Hat and Matching Suitcase, Smokestack, and Packrat’s Smokehouse. Add food, arts marketplace, and kid’s activities area with beautiful spring weather and you have a music experience like no other! We even have a surfing contest and 5K run/2.5 walk.
